Soy Candles with Dried Flowers

Homemade soy candles with pressed flowers look like they came from a boutique. They are easier than you think and make wonderful gifts.

You will need

  • Soy wax flakes (500 g makes 3-4 candles)
  • Cotton wicks and holders
  • Heatproof jars
  • Dried flowers and essential oil (optional)

Melt the wax

Melt soy flakes in a double boiler to about 70 C. Stir in a few drops of essential oil off the heat.

Set the wicks

Fix wicks centered in each jar with a dab of melted wax or a wick holder.

Pour and decorate

Pour wax, let it set until cloudy at the edges, then press dried flowers gently onto the surface.

Tip: Keep flowers away from the wick. They are decoration for the top edge, not fuel.
